How do I get my mojo back?

You remember a time when sex felt different. Perhaps desire came more easily, you felt more connected to your body, or there was a sense of playfulness and curiosity that seems to have got lost somewhere along the way.

Now, sex might feel like another thing on your to-do list. You rarely think about it, struggle to get in the mood, or find yourself wondering why you don’t want it in the way you used to.

Perhaps you’re worried about what this means for your relationship, or frustrated that your body doesn’t seem to respond the way you’d like it to.

So, how do you get your mojo back?

Our relationship with desire is complex. It can be shaped by stress, exhaustion, hormonal changes, body image, relationship dynamics, past experiences and the messages we’ve absorbed about sex. Sometimes, we know exactly what has changed. Other times, desire seems to have quietly slipped away.

And the more pressure we put on ourselves to want sex, the harder it can become to access it.

We can become caught in a cycle of wondering why we don’t want sex, feeling guilty about not wanting it, and trying to make ourselves want it. Somewhere in all of that, curiosity and pleasure can get lost.

What if, rather than trying to force desire back, you became curious about what might be getting in its way?

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, exploring low desire isn’t simply about increasing how often you have sex. It’s about understanding your relationship with sexuality, discovering what helps you feel connected to yourself, and making space for desire to emerge in ways that feel right for you.

Psychosexual therapy offers a space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, understand the patterns that may be shaping your experience, and find new ways of relating to sex, intimacy and pleasure.

You don’t have to accept a sex life that leaves you feeling disconnected, nor do you have to force yourself to want something that doesn’t feel right.

If you’re ready to explore your relationship with desire and discover what might be possible, I’d love to hear from you.
